Welcome To The Family – Chapter 1

ONE

Such a beautiful creature with so much beauty.  So beautiful, I had to stare at him as the fairies played harps around his well built body.  His dark black oiled hair was so well kept, his perfect white skin was moisture like morning dew and his eyes, his eyes were striking blue.  He was gold and I was nothing.

I knew he felt my green eyes on his body, but he didn’t look my way; he couldn’t. If he looked upon me, he would melt into grief and be in sin.

I remembered the time, he would hold me in his strong arms and I always felt safe and secure from the normal people of the world.  He would laugh at my jokes, sing my praise, and wash my soul. He was my soul mate and my best friend, but in one night, it all changed and turned me into a sick person.

I missed him so much; my body ached.  He was the only one who could feel my pain and understand my headache.  He knew my insides and my soul.  He knew how to comfort me and make me whole.

As I looked at him, paying attention to our English teacher made me dead inside.  I wanted him back.  I wanted the time we had together back.  I wanted everything back to my normal, but it was lost and needed to be forgotten.  He will never be mine again, never. We had a relationship, something foreign – I didn’t understand.

He looked into my eyes and I turned away.  I knew, he was in pain. I knew his stomach turned, his heart was being stabbed over and over, and he wanted to rip his eyes out. He loved me more then he loved himself.  We were made of the same flesh.

Why did things have to change?  Why could we be ignorance in our own minds?

We needed each other on this special day and the forces behind the ordeal would not have it.  I cursed those forces over and over.  I needed him and he needed me, but when we saw each other, vomit filled our mouths and our hearts became dead.

I looked through window as the snow flakes put on a show.  They danced as the wind sang.  It was a ballet and opera – all in one.  I looked at my reflection in the window and I saw a sad hellish monster.  I was ugly, so disgusting, so horrifying that I would have turned Medusa into stone.  I was the devil spawn.

The bell rang and he left without a trace. I took my time, as a packed my books.

I didn’t want to be in school today.  I didn’t want be around the Normals today.  They made me lust for something, I could not have.

My taste buds were cried out in pain and I needed to taste it and not the fake stuff.  I needed the real, genuine taste in my mouth, to satisfied me. My mouth began to water and my lips were plump. I could just imagine the sweet taste in my mouth. I could see my nails growing and banged my toe on the hard stone leg of the chair.  The sweet thought when away.

I walked into the hallway to my next class, but there was an annoyed  presence in back of me.  It got closer and closer.

I stopped in my tracks because the annoyed presence would not leave me alone.

“Yo – yo! Yo, yo, yo! Honey, you looking fine!,” the boy said.

I looked at him.

“What?” He asked.

He was a good looking boy with a suntan in the middle of a New York winter. His brown eyes sparkled and his bleach hair shine like the California sun.  He changed his well dress and expensive school uniform, into a gangsta paradise.  This boy with two wonderful, wealthy and famous parents acted like a two cent street hustler looking for a clue.

“Stop it,” I said.

“All shoot. She talked, yo!,” he said.

I looked around the hallway with my green hollow eyes and grabbed his waist, like a mother about to disciple her child.

In a split second, we were in the janitor’s closet. I used angel time to get there and my powers to walk through the locked door.

I stood in front of the jackass.  I got taller, my eyes became hollow, my skin was as pale as death, my nails looked like an eagle, my teeth looked terrifying, and my burn mark crawled and sat on my cheek.  I was in my real uniform.

“What the hell are you doing?” I asked.

He wanted to piss in his pants.  He has seen me this way before, but never this frightening.  Never.

“E, I’m so sorry,” as he quivered.

“Today, is not the day to fool around. You know this.  We are not normal like the people out there. We are different. Today, we are going to find out why.  Today, is an important one and all you can do is play around?  How dare you? This day is important to you, you know,” I said.

He looked at me.

“What, Kris?” I asked.

“I’m sorry”, he said and was about to cry.

I turned back to my pretty death goth self and my burn mark crawled back to its home.

“I need you to take this day serious.  Now, we’re going to talk out of this room with some sense, okay,” I said and he nodded.

I fixed myself up and opened the locked door. Kris dash out of the room and faded in with the shadows.

I took a deep breath and walked down the wealthy, gold, diamonds and jaded hallway; which radiated wealth.

I stood there as I heard, “Why?” from a girl, who talked a mile per second as if she was on natural speed.

I turned around and saw a bleach bombshell of a fashion model with fake baby blue eyes and flawless tan skin. She looked as if she was created, not born.

“Why did you scared the hell out of my brother, E?” She asked.

“Because he was getting on my nerves,” I said.

OMG! He bothers you all the time, now you’re piss?” She asked.

“K, stay out of my mind! Only my twin can do that,” I said with daggers in my eyes.

“What are you going to do? Eat me?” K asked and I didn’t answer.

“Listen, I know you’re stress over this story telling nonsense, but take a chill pill. You’re acting like your mother. For God sakes, just chill. It will all be over asap,” K said and looked up the hall.

A good looking boy without a school uniform and a chip on his shoulder walked down the hallway. He saw us and pretended not to know us.

“Max!” K said.

“Max!” K said again and again.

Max turned around and looked at us with disgust.

“What the hell do you want?” Max asked.

K with her innocent self asked, “What is Uncle Merlin going to talk about?”

Max nails became long, his teeth were sharp as razors and his eyes went hollow.

“Not here, darling. I’m not going to fight you, freak,” K said.

K always pushed Max’s buttons to the extreme and I was always surprised how Max could control himself in an elegant way.

“Everyone has asked me the same damn question.  My phone was taken away because Fire kept calling me, over and over.  If you want to know, why don’t you ask Mercy, Mckeena or Maverick?” Max asked.

“Because, you’re the only who tells,” K said.

Max walked away as he flipped his middle finger in the air.

K looked at me and said, “I don’t get it?  Why would Rebecca and her family come to a our family function? I don’t believe she’s related to us? Look at her, she’s not even the same skin tone,” K said.

“Shut up! I can’t wait to see Fire.  I have not spoken to her in a while.  I wonder what she can do now,” I said.

“Oh please, my family is the entertainment, not them,” K said and continued, “Well, I must go to drama,” she said as a song.

K faded away and I was the only one standing in the middle of the plush hallway.  Alone and scared. No frighten!  My stomach was tied up in knots and I wanted to scream to melt the pain away.

I didn’t have my soul mate comfort me, he was no where to be found. I couldn’t sense him.  He gone and I was still alone.
