E Side Part I – Chapter 34

THIRTY - FOUR

I keep telling myself, this can’t be real, this can’t be real. But it’s real!  So real!

As I mention, Fire was here and I didn’t feel good about it, even though I should.  She was my best friend, my allied when it came to trouble. I was so in love with her.  We went through tough times and good times, but those days are over.  Her fate made us enemies for life.  Sad, but it’s the true.  I can never see her in same way again.

As I said, before degreasing over how I can’t stand Fire, she outed our cousin, Max.  She did it because it’s now her new awarding job within the family; which really really sucks.

See, I know Max is different. He always been different and no one never questioned it, we just went along with it. Like the ugly ducking story but he is not a swan.  He is a monster – A beautiful monster.

I knew Max wasn’t well for a while.  He sweated a lot as if he lived in the shower and his eyes were bright yellow all the time.  Plus, he lost his faith in his abilities; which senseless, when you are the son of the great historian Uncle Merlin.  He was out of touch; an outsider, always trying to look into our world but not being part of it.  So sad in a way! Very sad!

You know, like trying to fit into a world which created you, but knowing why you can’t measure up.  This is Max in a nutshell.

Before his changing into something that’s not natural, he had oil black hair, creamy silk skin, green leaves eyes, a smile which brightens the world of gloom and a curious mind which got him into a lot trouble.  He will question everything, even his father’s words.

At one time, he even took a peek into Uncle Merlin’s Big Book and got caught; which came with a high grounding price but he didn’t care.  He was searching for the truth about the family and why he wasn’t like his sisters and brothers.

I know, he feels alone because he is alone. His fate is in my mother’s hands. Maybe she will let him stay with family ties or make him live with his own kind. How does a half breed live with Vampires?  Time will tell.

Fire was told to spy on Max; her primary job within the new family structure.  Knowing Fire, everything she does is flawless, especially on her first assignment from my mother. You don’t want to piss off the Queen.

Fire was spying on Max as my mother was spying Aunt Megan.  My mother hated Aunt Megan the first time Uncle Merlin took her to meet the family.  I was not even thought of yet, when this happen.

As I heard it from the rumor mill, my mother felt Aunt Megan was a woman who only cared for self gain and married Uncle Merlin because he was available. There was no love in this union. Now, my mother has her proof.

Aunt Megan is a beautiful thin, brown hair and brown eyes woman with charisma and sex appeal.  She can get anyone to do something for her without saying much.  I have seen her in action. She has the IT factor inside of her beautiful body; which she is so proud of. Plus, she is a fantastic story teller, always talking about the past which can only be read in history books.  She knew Susan B. Anthony, personally.

She loves the dark side, but this curiosity torn our family apart.  Why did she do it? Not faithful! Why was she playing with danger?  Now, her mistake will affect Max; my poor innocent cousin.

Apollo is an old Vampire with his own family of freaks on a lease.  He is quite beautiful, but he’s still a disgusting Vamp with no class. He’s not dignified or can measure up in our family with his fangs and super model looks.  Apollo is a thing of the darkness of creatures.

I don’t know how Fire found out, but she reported to my mother that Apollo is Max’s real father and she had proof to show.  It was really cunning and sick how Fire did her job. For me, I’ll just abandon the assignment and go back to where I came from.
