THIRTY – FIVE
One night, the whole family was at my house for an important function and there was announced Max is half-vamp and Apollo is his father. She said it without any emotion or thought about the aftermath for her choice of words. How can someone be so cruel and heartless? How?
I will take you to the scene. It was an evening dinner with all the big flare as if we were having one of those big party functions like the ones we have at holidays. Everyone were wearing there best clothes and even Rebecca and her family showed up. I figured because we were entering in a new year, but I was wrong.
My mother hired an interior decorator to make our house look grand like a palace made of gold. She had it that we were eating like kings and queens on a very special night, with everything perfect and in proper order. The servants were plumb with meat and didn’t know this night was there last day on the job. It’s so amazing none of the party planning companies my mother use never thought about there staff disappearing after they served my family. But anyway, the house was splendid and the food looked very good to eat.
As the classical music played on our state-of-art sound system, my family was talking, dancing, and texting like any grand function my mother put on. But, Spirit was not there to entertain us and Galvin didn’t show his new body; we were slapped in the face with the news.
As I was half listening to K as she was talking a mile a minute over nonsense and Kris acting like a ghetto gangsta, stared at Eric. He was talking to Boyce about school.
I had a big pit in my stomach and had a gut feeling, something will be lost. The Grim Reaper stared at me with his thin skeleton body dressed in his cloak uniform. He pointed his bony finger in my direction, as he put fear in my mind. I tried to block his spell. I even though about putting aluminum foil around my head for protection. I wanted him to go away as if he crashed the wrong party, but the Grim Reaper is always right.
I needed Eric to be by my side, but Simon Peter was watching every move we made like a hawk watching his prey.
The tension was building up and my body was about to exploded. I wanted this family dinner to be over with so I could rest my mind. But people were talking, laughing and having grand old time.
I wanted to just stand up on the dining room table and curse out everyone in sight at the top of my lungs as if I was Spirit, but I was too chicken to do so.
The announcement came after my mother told the family to settle down.
I don’t know actually what was said because I was too much in the fog. It’s like your best friend died and can’t believe she is dead, but need your brain to accept the news, even though it doesn’t make sense. Does that make sense?
My mother said her speech about Max is a Vamp and cursed Aunt Megan out. My mother went on and on, as I sat in my chair motionless like a statue. K stopped talking and Eric stood there as his mouth hit the floor. It was a shock, even Trinity and Tranter jaw dropped and there texting was done for the night. I tried to look for Max as a sat in my chair, but he was nowhere to be found.
Aunt Megan left Uncle Merlin that night as the family thought she should burn in hell for being unfaithful and producing a half-breed. In my mind, she should have gotten an abortion for carrying the child of the devil. Am I wrong to say that?
The child is a spawn from the devil, but he’s still my cousin. What will I do, if I was Queen? I don’t know. How can I decide the fate of my own cousin?
What will be next for Max, I don’t know. I am so terrified.
